Abstract
This study analyzes the impact of tourism revenues on green growth in Türkiye for the period 1990–2024 using the fractional frequency Fourier ARDL (FFF-ARDL) method. The findings indicate that the current tourism structure does not create a growth model that supports environmental sustainability and may negatively impact green growth in some periods. However, it is concluded that tourism, rather than being a detriment to green growth, can become an environmentally friendly development tool with appropriate policies and strategies. In particular, environmentally friendly infrastructure investments that increase energy efficiency, regulations aimed at reducing carbon emissions, and policies that encourage the efficient use of natural resources can support sustainable growth by reducing the environmental impacts of tourism. In conclusion, in tourism-based economies like Türkiye, achieving green growth requires the widespread adoption of environmentally sensitive practices in the tourism sector and the integration of green transformation policies into the sector with a holistic approach.
